Ivan de Ramos, friend, DJ and QOOQER’s go-to designer, is building a playlist that’s already approaching 24 hours of music and more than 400 tracks. It’s not a greatest hits compilation or just another background playlist—it’s a collection of personal favourites, a kind of sonic diary that captures what he calls “the QOOQER vibe.”
Its backbone is nu-disco and cosmic disco, the sound that revives the groove of the ‘70s with modern production. Along the way you’ll find key names such as Todd Terje, Lindstrøm, Morgan Geist, Metro Area, Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, alongside old-school deep house pioneers like Mr. Fingers and St Germain.
Layered on top are touches of post-punk and coldwave (Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, Fad Gadget), downtempo electronica (Jean-Michel Jarre, Gigi Masin, Ghost Culture), and the occasional hint of ambient, providing moments of contrast and breathing space between waves of synthesizers.
